This year, our school held a special program called Saint Mary's Way. This program aims to foster a spirit of caring, sharing, and serving others, especially the elderly. As part of this activity, my friends and I were assigned to visit a nursing home. We had discussed and prepared ourselves several days in advance. On the day of the event, September 11, 2025, we gathered and departed together at 10 a.m. Upon arrival at the home, the atmosphere was calm and warm. Several elderly women were already seated neatly, waiting for us, and their smiles touched my heart.

Upon arrival, we immediately divided up the tasks to ensure the event ran smoothly. Some led prayers, introduced ourselves, prepared games, and others accompanied the grandmas throughout the event. Although it was simple, we tried our best to make them feel appreciated. The event began with a group prayer, followed by introductions. The grandmas listened enthusiastically, occasionally offering small comments to create a more intimate atmosphere.

The next activity was singing together. The songs we sang brightened the atmosphere. Many of the grandmas joined in, clapping along to the rhythm. Afterward, we played several games, such as guessing songs and word games. The grandmas' laughter filled the room with joy, and it was a truly memorable experience for me.

Besides playing, we also chatted with the grandmothers. They shared stories from their youth, life experiences, and meaningful advice with me. I felt like I was talking to my own grandmothers because their concern was so genuine.

During my activities, I strived to emulate Mother Mary's example of humility and faithfulness. I learned to serve sincerely, without arrogance, and to be faithful in every task given. Simple acts like listening, accompanying, and showing little attention meant a lot to them and deepened my understanding of the value of genuine love.

The Saint Mary's Way activities were a valuable experience that opened my eyes to the meaning of service. I learned that happiness can come from small acts of love. Through these activities, I have been further encouraged to become a more sensitive, humble, grateful person, ready to serve others with an open heart, and to continue cultivating compassion in every action I take in my daily life.
